解説

沖縄県の地方制度の改正に関する案である。条文と必要書類のリストが記されている。沖縄県の罫紙。本史料の特徴として、複数の間切番所を統括する「惣番所」の設置が構想されている点が挙げられる。研究史では明治13(1880)年6月に県内を9行政区に区分し、それぞれに「役所」が設置されたことが知られているが、その前の構想を示すものであろうか。

Description

It is an amendment proposal of the local government system of Okinawa Prefecture. There are provisions and a list of required documents. It is written on a ruled paper of Okinawa Prefecture. As there is no title of this document, we put a provisional title for convenience sake. What distinguishes this material is the conception for the establishment of a general guard station which would control the overall of local guard stations. According to the History of Research, it was June 1880 when Okinawa Prefecture was divided into nine administrative districts, and a public office was established in each district. This article is, therefore, supposedly a draft of the proposal.
