東汀随筆
『琉球見聞録』、『琉球三冤録』と共に喜舎場朝賢作の琉球王国末期の基本文献。伊波普猷が喜舎場の遺族から提供され保存していたもの（『校本東汀随筆』至言社刊 解説）。正編と続編で構成される。著者は、琉球最後の国王尚泰の側仕として王国の中枢にあって、「琉球処分」の経緯をつぶさに見ていた。本書は著者の幅広い知識と側仕としての経験や見聞が、読みやすい随筆形式で記録されている。著者の晩年（大正初期）の著作といわれる。原本は、沖縄図書館に保存されていた。この原本から荒木本と球陽堂本の祖本となる二系統の写本（沖縄図書館蔵本と伊波本）ができた。本書は伊波本で球陽堂本の祖本。正編は、薩摩の琉球支配のはじまりや、蔡温のことなどの故事、喜舎場朝賢が同時代を生きたころのベッテルハイムの来琉や、王国末期の様相など、その内容は多岐にわたる。
A book from the time of the Ryukyu Kingdom including work by Kishaba Chōken, along with Ryūkyū Kenbunroku and Ryukyu San'en Roku. It was preserved by Iha Fuyū, after it was given to him by the family of Kishaba. Composed of the main part and the continuation. The author, as an attendant to the last King of Ryukyu, King Shō Tai, looked in great detail at the “Ryukyu Shobun” focusing on the King. It records the author’s own experience and knowledge in the form of easy to read miscellaneous writings. It is said to be one of the author’s last works (beginning of the Taishō Era). The original was preserved in Okinawa Library. The main part of the book starts with the Satsuma rule of Ryukyu,the history of Sai On, the time when Bettelheim came to Ryukyu whilst Kishaba Chōken was still alive, and aspects
of the final years of the Ryukyu Kingdom; the contents cover a lot of ground.
