定西法師琉球物語 全
島津侵入以前に、ある男が琉球へ渡りひと儲けしようとし、まず鹿児島へ行き医者の弟子になって足に塗る薬の伝授をうける。那覇の「営中」に住んでいると王妃が病気で誰も治せないという。男はつてを頼って申し出、例の薬を足に塗りみごとに治す。約束で王は南蛮行きを許し、帰ってきて妻子にも宝を残して帰国し、石見銀山の役人になるが悪事が露顕して追放され、ついに江戸の大寺の乞食僧に凋落しこれまでの身の上を語るというもの。
Before the Shimazu Invasion, a man came to Ryukyu to earn a living. Firstly he went to Kagoshima, and became the student of a doctor, where he took instruction is applying medicine to the legs. When living in Naha a queen was ill but nobody could cure her. He was asked to help, so he applied medicine to her legs and cured her. As promised the King let him go to South-East Asia, he came back to Ryukyu, and left his possesions to his wife and children, and then he became an official of Iwami silver mine. His wrong doings were exposed and he was banished; this is the story of his circumstances up until he confesses his wrong doings at the Daiji Temple in Edo.
