物茂卿著 琉球聘使記 完
筆者は物茂卿（ぶつもけい）。物茂卿は荻生徂徠（おぎゅうそらい）のことである。江戸期に日本で刊行された琉球に関する出版物であり、本書は宝永7年（1710）の江戸上り（えどのぼり）の使節一行について記したものである。この時の江戸上りは、将軍家宣（いえのぶ）が将軍を襲職し新政を慶賀するための使者として正使美里王子（みさとおうじ）・副使富盛親方（とみもりおやかた）が派遣され、また尚益王（しょうえきおう）即位にあたり謝恩の使者として正使豊見城王子（とみぐすくおうじ）・副使与座親方（よざおやかた）が派遣された。本書には正副使以下の人員の氏名・人数、経路、進上物、使者たちの服装についても記され、さらに、行列の構成についての説明、路次楽（ろじがく）の様相にも触れ、演奏者の氏名や楽器についても詳細に記している。
Written by Butsu Mokei. Butsu Mokei is also known as Ogiu Sorai. Published in Edo Era Japan as a material relating to Ryukyu. Written about the envoy party sent to Edo to pay tribute in 1710. The envoy to Edo at this time was carried out to celebrate the Shogun Ienobu’s creating a new government. Prince Misato (chief envoy) and Tomimori Oyakata (vice-envoy) were sent, King Shō Eki as an expression of gratitude for his coronation dispatched the Prince of Tomigusuku (chief envoy) and the Oyakata of Yoza (vice-envoy). The text contains information about the clothes the envoy were wearing, the route they took, offerings, the number of people and the names of people under the chief and vice-chief envoy. Furthermore, it touches on explanations of the organisation of the processions and Rojigaku, as well as details about the instruments and names of the performers.
