明治三十二年十二月写 伊平屋嶋 テルク口・イルチヤヤウ・口上念佛・親ノ遺言・弁之獄由来口説・獄々願文 玉山

Compiled on Iheya Island by Onga Chōyū (Gyokuzan) in December of 1899, recorded in Iha’s “South Island Rice crop Events” (Okinawa Bunkaron Shū 2). As “Teruku guchi” only exists on Iheya Island, it’s a valuable text. It’s thought that recording it must have involved many people; one part of it “Iheya Island’s Official Family Register” is written on lined paper. Other than Teruku Guchi, it contains many songs, including Iruchiyayau-bushi, Buddhist messages, parents’ wills, history of Utaki and prayers towards Utaki and many others that were sung in the seventh and eighth months of the old calendar.
