解説

光緒7年（1881，明治14）写し。25.6×19.0cm。1件，62丁。松茂氏，当宗の手になる写本。扉に「中山王代記諸例抜」とある。歴年ごとに八重山関係記事を集成した編纂物「八重山島年来記」であり，多くの写本が現存する。本史料はその中の宮良本として知られる写本の一つ。天災地変，村落移動，人口動態，人事往来など貴重な記事が多い。本写本の記事は乾隆40年（1775）で終わっている。『沖縄県史料』前近代1（1981）に諸本を集めた『八重山年来記』全文が収録されている。(高良倉吉）

Description

A manuscript by Matsumo-uji Tōsō. It is written, on behalf of the King of Chūzan, Shoreinuki on the title page. Many copies were made from this chronicles of Yaeyama as it is a collection of articles in relation to Yaeyama throughout the successive years. This particular version is known as the Miyara Manuscript. It contains many important articles on natural disasters, relocation of villages, population statistics, and personal correspondences, etc. The last article was dated 1775. The complete Chronicles of Yaeyama from various manuscripts can be found in Okinawa-ken Shiryō (zenkindai 1, 1981).(Updated on February 27, 2015)
