1件。3枚。25.5×19.0cm。楮紙。罫紙使用。八重山島の役人である頭・首里大屋子（しゅりおおやこ）が「上国」（沖縄本島に行くこと）して国王に拝謁する儀式 （「朝見」）と役人の那覇への出張に関する史料。1889年作成。王国時代の慣例について、八重山島役所から八重山島蔵元にいくつかの質問が出され蔵元側がそれに答えたもの。上国する順番について役所側と蔵元側とでは認識が 異なっており、那覇に出張する役人をどのように選ぶかということでの確認を前例をもとに報告している。上国する役人を選ぶ基準は、頭（かしら）・首里大屋子（すいりおおやこ）・蔵筆者（くらひっしゃ）と、与人（ゆんちゅ）・目差（めざし）とでは異なっていたようである。
Historical records about official trips to Naha and CHOUKEN, which is the ritual where the KASHIRA and SHURIOOYAKO (Yaeyama officials) travels to pay respects to the King. The questions raised by the Yaeyamajima District Office (YAKUSHO) are answered by KURAMOTO (Yaeyama Administration). The KURAMOTO and YAKUSHO had different understandings in regards to the order of trips to the mainland,and the letter confirmed on the details of the selection process of officials to be sent to the mainland based on precedents. The standard selection process differed between the KASHIRA, SHURIOOYAKO, KURAHISSHA; and the YUNCHU and MEZASHI.
