墓所新築願 / Request for the building of graves
明治17（1884）年12月26日。25.5×18.5cm。1件，4枚。八重山の頭（かしら）宮良當宗より沖縄県令（西村捨三）宛に出された文書の控え。 八重山から那覇・首里に出張する役人たちの中で死去する者がおり， 彼らのために墓所を確保することの困難を訴えている。 解決策にして那覇若狭町村の供済寺（住職・虎尾台岩） から土地を購入し専用の墓地を設置することとした。確かに売却したこと， 手続きが適正であることを虎尾の他に泉崎村主取，若狭町村主取が証明している。 若狭町村主取が保証するのは物件の所在地との関係， 泉崎村主取が保証するのは宮良が泉崎村に滞在していたからであろう。
A record of the correspondence from Miyara, Tousou ( Kashira of Yaeyama) to Nishimura, Sutezou (Prefectural ordinance of Okinawa). Miyara writes of the difficulty in securing land for graves for the Yaeyama officials who passed away while on duty in Naha/Shuri. The solution was to buy land for graves from Kyousai Temple in Naha's Wakasamachi Village. Torao, the Chief Priest, together with the heads of Izumisaki Village and Wakasamachi Village certifies that the sale and procedures were legitimate and appropriate.
