解説

表題に「辰四月九日波平村東リ百次当間にや宅相揃候銅銭五拾貫文模合面立并番居模居シ印帳」とあり、「模合帳」(一)と同じ光緒６(1880)年のものである。村名から読谷山間切(読谷村)で行われた模合の実態を伝える史料の一つであることが分かる。「東リ百次」は屋号、「当間にや」(人名)は模合の座元・親とみられる。模合の運営に関する記述が多く含まれており近世における模合の研究を進める上で欠かせない史料である。

Description

This historical document that tells of the practice of Moai conducted in Yomitan Magiri (village). The people's names or Okugo ) are believed to be the names of the Oya(a host or organizer of Moai ). This is an indispensable document for the research on Moai containing a lot of artcles on how the Moai system works. Good material for understanding Moai system in the early modern age. (Okugo :a kind of nickname of the family the person is commonly known by in the community. Mostly, the name describes or shows their status.)
