中山聘使略

"This material was published in order to introduce the Ryukyuan envoys. It was a folded book(Ori-hon) at the time of publishing, but later, it was remade into Japanese-style bound(Toji-hon) book. In this year, the Ryukyuan missions of gratitude were sent by the King Sho-iku to Edo. The document introduces the Ryukyuan envoys telling what sort of country the Ryukyu is, the genealogy of the royal family, and also the list of the ranks and the names of officials. It is also illustrated with drawings of the items and tools that the envoys had. The maps in the document are reprinted from the book ""Chuzan Denshinroku ""written by Xu Bao Guang ."
