解説

本史料は天保13(1842)年に徳川家慶の将軍就任の慶賀使として派遣された琉球使節の行列絵である。版元は丸屋甚八、絵師は渓斎英泉。琉球使節の行列を絵で記し、人名、道具名なども記している。天保13年の使節は、正使浦添朝熹、副使座喜味盛普、合計99名。

Description

This document contains drawings of Ryukyuan procession that were on gratitude mission for Tokugawa Ieyoshi who assumed the twelfth Shogun. The publisher was Maruya Jinpachi, the painter was Keisai Eisen. He illustrated the Ryukyuan procession, the names of the people and items the Ryukyuan owned. For the mission, there were totaling 99 people, including senior envoy Urasoe Choki and the vice envoy Zakimi Seifu.
