過眼掌記 琉球慶良間港造之
本史料冒頭には、表題として「過眼掌記」と記されているが、詳細な内容は不明である。年号が消され判読不能だが「○○六癸酉四月中暫泊、琉球慶良間港造之、月湾蔵」の文言から、明治6(1873)年癸酉に作成され可能性がある。内容は、爪哇の土侯貴族や風俗図、キルギス・トルキスタン・インド・ビルマ・清国(中国)の人物画などが載せられているが、どのような意図があるのかは不明。同名の書として19世紀江戸に活躍した画家椿椿山(つばきちんざん)の手稿「過眼掌記」もあるが、安政元(1854)年に本人は死去しており、年代的な相違があるので別物と思われる。
At the beginning of the document, it is written as "Kagan Shoki"although its content is unknown. The date is obscure and unreadable, but it was presumably compiled in the year of Mizunotori, 1873. The paintings of the local ruler or the nobilities of Java Indonesia, and other portraits from Kyrgyzstan, Turkestan, India, Burma and Qing(China). Its purpose is also unknown. Note that there is another "Kagan Shoki "by the painter, Tsubaki Chinzan, but he had deceased in 1854 and since there is time difference, these two are not considered same ones .
