画本異国一覧 巻之参 / Picture Book of Foreign Countries, Vol. 3
春光園花丸〔述〕 5冊 岡田氏(岡田玉山)画、木版刷り(白黒)。浪速書林版。寛政己未に(1799）年成立。1巻～5巻のうちの第3巻。諸外国の風俗を描き、その解説を付した冊子。内容は解説・画とも事実と空想が混在している。本巻では、「喎蘭陀国」(おらんだこく)など、主にヨーロッパ諸国を含む10の国々がテーマとなっている。当時の日本の社会が、異国にどのような関心を寄せていたかが理解できる資料といえる。
Shunkōen Hanamaru; 23 cm; five books; artwork by Gyokuzan Okada, woodblock print (monochrome); Naniwa Shorin book reprint; completed in 1799. This book is the third volume in a series of five and depicts the customs and manners of foreign countries with commentary. The contents are a mix of both fact and fantasy. Volume three focuses on ten countries, mainly European countries, such as the Netherlands. This material can help us understand the social interest in foreign countries among the Japanese at the time.
