〔琉球船漂流文書〕 / Documents about a Drifting Ryukyuan Ship
宝暦9(1756)年、油津湊(宮崎県南部、日向灘に面する)へ漂着した琉球船の一件文書。那覇を出港し、鹿児島へ向かった琉球の公用船である春先楷船(15反帆)が油津湊へ漂到したことを記す。文書は、琉球船の性格、乗員52名(船頭水主41名、中乗り9名、勤学僧2名)の名簿などを記した「浦証文」の部分と油津湊へ至った経緯、船の破損状態、修繕用の松材の要請、鹿児島琉球仮屋(後の琉球館)への連絡要請などが地元役人とやり取りされた部分からなる。
This is a document about a Ryukyuan ship that drifted into Aburatsu Port (which faces the Hyuga-nada Sea in southern Miyazaki Prefecture) in 1756. It describes the account of the tribute ship (with 15 sails) that had departed Naha for Kagoshima but drifted into Aburatsu port. The Ura-jōmon (marine incident report) section includes the characteristics of the ship and the names of the fifty-two people on board (forty-one captain and crew, 中乗り9名, and two monks). Another section details how the ship arrived in Aburatsu port, damages to the ship, exchanges with local officials including a request for pinewood to be used for repairs and to contact the Ryukyu-kariya (later the Ryukyukan) in Kagoshima.
