解説

天保13(1842)年、17回目の江戸立ちの際に出版されたものと思われる。読谷房蔵版。内容は、(1)これまでの江戸立ちの歴史、(2)行列図、(3)琉球人姓名、(4)中山畧系(中山王朝の世系)、(5)琉球の歌、となっている。この時の正使は浦添王子、副使は座喜味親方。12代将軍徳川家慶の就任を祝う慶賀使だった。

Description

This piece of document is thought to have been published in 1842, upon the seventeenth occasion of Edo-dachi (Ryukyuan envoy mission to Edo). Yomitanbō collection. It includes (1) the history of Edo-dachi missions to Japan up until this time, (2) a procession map, (3) names of the Ryukyuans, (4) the lineage of the Chūzan dynasty, and (5) songs of Ryukyu. This particular mission was headed by Prince of Urasoe as chief envoy and Zakimi Oyakata as deputy envoy, with a purpose to celebrate the succession of Ieyoshi Tokugawa as the 12th shōgun.
