台湾與琉球 / Taiwan and Ryūkyū

民国34(1945)年、京華印書館より出版された地誌。著者の胡煥庸(1901-1998)は中国江蘇省宜興県(現宜興市）出身の地理学者である。本書の特色は、台湾と琉球の地理や産業を研究し、双方の比較を行った点にある。前半では台湾の「地形」「河川」「気候」「居民」のほか、農林水産業その他産業について、また台北・新竹その他各行政区についてまとめている。後半は琉球諸島の「北部」「中部」「南部」についてまとめ、台湾が琉球と過去から交流があることや、台湾と中国の連携は農業・産業をはじめ、軍事的にも有益となると論じている。
This is a regional geography book written by Hú huànyōng in 1945 and published by publisher Kyōka Inshokan. Hu was a Chinese geographer, born in Yixing, Jiangsu Province. The feature of this study is the comparison of the geography and industries of Taiwan and Ryukyu. The first half covers Taiwan’s terrain, rivers, climate, inhabitants, and industries: the agriculture, forestry, fishery industry, and information regarding Taipei, Hsinchu, and other administrative districts. The latter half covers the northern, central, and southern regions of the Ryukyu Islands, the history of exchange between Taiwan and Ryukyu, and discusses that cooperation between Taiwan and China would benefit not only agriculture and industries, but also the regional defense.
