解説

「尚嶋記事」は天野昌景と、その父天野信景による1710年の琉球使節の江戸立ちに関する書物である。琉球国王家の系図や江戸立ちの海路図からはじまり、琉球使節の概要や音楽、各地での献上品などその詳細が記されている。一方、「善隣記事」は朝鮮通信使について使節の概要や日朝関係に関する記述が見られる。

Description

Shōtō Kiji is a book about the Edo-dachi, the Ryukyuan mission to Edo in 1710, written by AMANO Masakage and his father AMANO Sadakage. It begins with a brief order of succession of the Ryukyu Royal family and the nautical route of the mission to Edo. It continuatively provides description of the envoys of this mission, music, and the details of tributes. Besides, Zenrin Kiji describes the Korean envoys, Joseon Tsushinshi, and their crucial duties of mutual Joseon and Japanese relations.
