解説

向山周澤著、弘化2（1845）年成立。直筆。著者は向山周慶（さきやま・しゅうけい、1746～1819）の孫。周慶は江戸時代後期の高松藩における製糖研究者である。本史料は、過去に周慶が「御重役筋」へ提出した砂糖製造に関する文書を、再提出した際の写である（31コマより）。作成年の異なる複数の文書がまとめて筆写されている。周慶の略歴や功績を記した「口上」、周慶が藩に提出した文書およびその回答などを収録する。(2015年8月6日更新)

Description

Handwritten by Sakiyama Shūtaku. Completed in 1845. The author Shūtaku is a grandchild of Sakiyama Shūkei (1746-1819). Shūkei did research on sugar production in Takamatsu Domain (present-day Kagawa Prefecture) during the late Edo period. This book is a copy of a collection of documents regarding sugar production, which Shūkei resubmitted to his boss (from Image no. 31). It contains copies of documents written on different dates in one. It consists of "Kōjō" (Reports), describing Shūkei's background information and results from his work, as well as documents that were submitted to the local government, including response letters, etc.(Updated on August 6, 2015)
