解説

10月9日付、奥田周助書簡。あて名は柱本村の葉間清十郎、中之村の西嶋源左衞門。琉球人通航の際の綱引人足は川縁村だけでは負担しきれないので、助郷を命じるよう藩に依頼して欲しい、という内容である。(2015年5月18日更新)

Description

A letter, dated October 9 and written by Okuda Shūsuke. The addressees are Hama Seijūrō of Hashiramoto Village and Nishijima Genzaemon of Nakanomura Village. This document is a request made to them for more help from other neighboring villages since the boat-tracking labor for the Ryukyuan envoys' sailing was too much for just the villages along the Yodo River.(Updated on October 27, 2015)
