琉球神道記 巻五 / Account of the Ways of the Gods in Ryukyu, vol. 5
稿本。袋中（たいちゅう）著。巻5のみ。「西荘文庫」「宝玲文庫」の蔵書印がある。袋中は奥州岩城郡 (現秋田県）の人。浄土宗の僧として中国へ向かう途次、1603年に琉球に流れ着き、3年間滞在した。その間に著したのが『琉球神道記』である。巻1～4は琉球の神道には直接関係のない内容である。巻5が琉球に関する記述に当てられている。(2015年12月25日更新)
A manuscript. Written by Taichū. This is the fifth volume. There are two ownership stamps: Frank Hawley and Ozu Hisatari (Seisō Bunko). Taichū was from Iwaki, Ōshū (present-day Akita Prefecture). On the way to China, Taichū, who was a Buddhist monk of Jōdo Sect, drifted to Ryukyu in 1603 and stayed there for three years. Ryūkyū Shintōki is a book he wrote during this three year stay. The contents of the first through fourth volume are hardly related to Ryukyu's Shintoism. The fifth volume contains a general description of Ryukyu's Shintoism.(Updated on December 25, 2015)
