琉球中山王両使者登城行列 乾 (Please see theEnglish description for the English title) / Procession to the Shōgun's Castle by the Two Envoys from the King of Chūzan, Ryukyu, vol. 1
宝永7(1710)年11月18日に江戸城へ上がった琉球の慶賀使と謝恩使の行列絵巻。絵師の名、成立年共に不明。両使節団の行列を生き生きと描いている。このときの慶賀使は正使美里王子、副使冨盛親方。謝恩使は正使豊見城王子、副使與座親方である。乾(HW743(1))は行列の前半を描いている。坤(HW743(2))は行列の後半と行列の持っている小道具や楽器を丁寧に描いている。(2017年4月20日更新)
A pictorial scroll of the procession of Ryukyuan's envoys(Keigashi and Shaonshi) to Edo Castle in November 18th, 1710. Neither the painter name nor the completed year are known. The procession of both delegations are lively depicted in this scroll. The Keigashi(a Ryukyuan envoy who congratulates a new Shōgun on his succession) were Misato Ōji as a senior envoy and Tomimori Uēkata(Jpn., Oyakata) as a vice-envoy. The Shaonshi(a Ryukyuan envoy who expresses special gratitude with regards to the enthronement of Ryukyu King) were Tomigusuku Ōji as a senior envoy and Yoza Uēkata as a vice-envoy. In the 1st volume(HW743(1)), it is described the first half of the procession. In the 2nd volume(HW743(2)), it is carefully described the second half of the procession and the tools or musical instruments which the members of delegation were holding.
