Romanaized title

Shichigon zekku

解説

掛け軸一幅。汪楫筆。箱書きには『七言絶句』と記されている。総裏に「汪楫南端家蔵」とあるが、詳細は未詳である。汪楫（おう・しゅう：?-1689）は、安徽省休寧県の出身。康煕18（1679）年翰林院検討となり、尚貞15（1683）年冊封使として来琉した。教育者として著名であり、また漢詩や書に長けた人物であった。(2017年4月19日更新）

Description

A hanging scroll. Handwritten by Wang Ji (Jpn., Ōshū.) On a box containing this artwork, there is a note saying Shichigon zekku. On the back, there is a note of: "Wang Ji, owned by Minamibata family ", but the details are otherwise unknown. Wang Ji (?-1689) was from Xiuning County in Anhui Province. He became an examining Editor of Hanlin-yuan (Hanlin Academy) in 1679, and he came to Ryukyu as an envoy in 1683. He was famous as an educator, and was also accomplished at Chinese poetry and calligraphy.(Updated on November 4, 2022)
