實語教 / Teachings of the words of truth
羽地間切我部祖河村の「仲の屋の徳」によって書写された文書。本書は、「実語教」と「童子教」からなる教訓書である。前者の冒頭は、「山高ｶﾞ故ﾆ不ﾚ貴 以ﾃ有ﾚ樹為ﾚ貴」とある。楷書で記された漢文に返り点などを付し和文で読み下している。様々な道徳律を列挙している。特に子供への教訓書である「童子教」では、父母との関係や日常的な所作、学問への心構えなどが説かれている。地方役人の教養を知る手がかりとなる文書である。
This is a copy of educational books for children, handwritten by "Nakanoyano Toku" from Gabusoka Village, Haneji Magiri. It consists of four volumes of Jitsugokyō (Teachings of the Words of Truth) and twelve volumes of Dōjikyō (Teachings for Children). The beginning of the former says "A mountain is worthwhile not because it is high but because it has trees." It is modified to Japanese reading style by adding return marks to the original Chinese writings. Various moral teachings are listed in these textbooks. Especially in Dojikyō; a textbook of moral codes for children, teachings such as respecting parents, everyday conduct, and preparing for education, etc. are explained. This book gives us ideas on the education levels of local officials at the time.
