上従四位鍋島公書[従四位鍋島公に上るの書] / A letter from Hara Tadayuki to Juyon'i (it means Junior Forth rank in the Japanese Court rank) Nabeshima Kō
明治14(1881)年11月15日、原忠順が鍋島直彬に宛てて書いた文章の下書2通。白地の紙に清書されているのは、半分ほどの分量しかない。糸閉じして冊子になっているほうは、全文があり、下書きで推敲の跡が見える。内容は、原忠順が鍋島直彬の元を離れて故郷へ帰る際の別れの手紙で、これまでの半生でのお互いの関係や出来事などを時系列でつづり、感謝を述べて別れの挨拶としている。
Two rough drafts of the letter which Hara Tadayuki wrote to Nabeshima Naoyoshi on November 15th, 1881.
There is only about half of the letter which Hara neatly wrote on a white-ground paper; there is, on the contrary, the whole of the message on a booklet closed by string, and it shows us that Hara worked on his letter to improve the wording. In this letter, Hara looked back in chronological order, their relationship and the events happened in half their life to express his gratitude and to say
his farewell to Nabeshima at the time of moving back home.
