原忠順宛田中馨治書簡 / A letter from Tanaka Seiji to Hara Tadayuki
田中馨治より原忠順に宛てた書簡。田中馨治と山口小一(やまぐち・こいち。のちの第９回衆議院議員。1841‐1911)らのやりとりを報告したもの。主な内容は、天災により堤防や橋梁が破壊され「数万円ヲ要スル程之破損」なので、内務大臣へ土木費及び土木補助費を請願するための提出用書類(建白書)を、山口ほか数人に託すというもの。
A letter from Tanaka Seiji to Hara Tadayuki.
Tanaka reported the correspondence with Yamaguchi Koichi(later became a member of the lower house of the Imperial Diet, 1841-1911.) He mainly wrote about that he would ask Yamaguchi and others to submit to the Minister of the Home Affairs a petition assuming the cost for the restoration of bank and bridge which had been destroyed by a natural disaster. Because the total financial damage had been enormous, as tens of thousands of yen (today's money, it is about hundreds of millions of yen.)
