原忠順宛山崎惣一書簡 / A letter from Yamazaki Sōich to Hara Tadayuki
山崎惣一から原忠順への書簡。表書きには「極御内証」とある。東京である事件が起こり、山崎が一生懸命対応しているが、らちが明かず、その対応のため至急、原へ上京を依頼している。詳細不明だが、東京の佐賀藩邸内の奥向きの女性関係のトラブルか。事件から一か月が経ち、事実関係が判然としないが、穏便に対応したいこと、事件関係者の本人は今日から屋敷の東長屋へ移動させていること、電報も原へ送ったが手紙で今後さらに詳細を送るなど書き綴っている。原が上京する際には、一人では対応できないので、徳一(姓不明)なども一緒に連れてきて欲しいとある。
A letter from Yamazaki Sōichi to Hara Tadayuki. On the envelope, there is a note as "With utmost secrecy." Yamazaki asked Hara to come up to Tokyo immediately because, in Tokyo, a particular matter had occurred which he was trying hard to solve but could not handle. The detail of the case is unknown. Probably, there was trouble among female residents at a house of Saga clan in Tokyo. He wrote that after one month passed, it was not possible to reveal the facts of the matter and he would like to settle the issue peacefully. Besides, he reported that he had already moved the person involved in the case to Higashinagaya (an eastern outbuilding) of the house. He also noticed that he had sent a telegram to Hara about this issue, but he would send a letter too so that Hara could know much more detail. Yamazaki also asked to come with Tokuichi (his family name is unknown) to Tokyo because it would be challenging to handle the case by Hara only.
