覚[出生届] / Memorandum (A report on births)
丑年（年代不明）12月18日。13.1×27.0cm。1件，1枚。石垣島白保村に関する出生届文書。この年12月8日から13日にかけて8名（女子5名，男子3名）が出生したことを報告したもの。同村を所轄する役人である真謝目差，真謝与人（ゆんちゅ）両名の名で報告されている。文書冒頭に「見調部大筆者糸数筑登之」の添え書きがあり，八重山全体を所轄する蔵元（行政機関）の担当役人が決裁したことを示している。人口増加策を図る首里王府の周到な人口動態把握の実態を示す。（高良倉吉）
A report on the births in Shiraho Village on Ishigaki Island. Between the 8th and 13th of December that year, a total of 8 births ( 5 girls and 3 boys) were recorded. The reports were filed by the village's Majamezashi and Majayunchu. As it was written Checked by Itohashi, Chikudoun at the beginning, this shows that the report was approved by the Kuramoto, which was in charge of all of Yaeyama. This reveals that the Shuri government was meticulous about collection information on pregnancies as they tried to increase the population.
