琉球人参府記 / A record of Ryukyuans visiting the shogunate

A handwritten record, written in diary style, on the Ryukyuan mission of 1710, which was both to give shaon, special gratitude, with regards to the enthronement of King Shō Eki, as well as to congratulate Tokugawa Ienobu on his succession to the shogun. It covers the period from March, 1709 through December 28, 1710, so it has supposedly been completed after 1710. It describes: the reason why both keigashi and shaonshi had to be sent at the same time (due to the death of the former king); conversations with officials of the Satsuma and other domains, who were in charge of security during this mission; gakudōji, officials of musical performers; lists of songs, musical instruments, tributes, gifts received from the shogun;etc. It also includes documents sent from King Shō Eki to several lords of domains, which also makes this record historically valuable for understanding the various aspects of missions to Edo.
