南島志 呂 / Gazetteer of the Southern Islands, vol. 2
享保４（1719）年に成立した源君美（新井白石）の『南島志』巻上・巻下を、「甘雨亭叢書」第4集として収めたもの。『南島志』原本には、巻「上」に地理・世系、巻下に官職・宮室・冠服・礼刑・文芸・風俗・食貨・物産が収録されている。現在の研究では、新井白石著『南島志』は、写本が多数あり、異同も幾つかあることが指摘されている。しかし甘雨亭叢書版は、白石叢書の写本を元にして収めたとされる（今泉定介『新井白石全集 第3』PP.7－8：1906）。甘雨亭および甘雨亭叢書については、HW516 解説を参照のこと。（2017年4月6日更新）
This is a manuscript of two volumes of Nantōshi which was completed in 1719 by Minamotono Kimmi(Arai Hakuseki), and this manuscript was recorded as the 4th Volume of "Kan'utei sōsho". In original Nantōshi, the first volume contains a geography and a family tree, the second volume contains government posts, a palace, a traditional formal court dress, etiquette and penalty, art and literature, customs, food and money and local production. Current studies suggest that there are a lot of manuscripts of Nantōshi of Arai Hakuseki, some of these manuscripts are not the same as original. This "Kan'utei sōsho" version is, however, considered as an authentic manuscript of Hakuseki sōsho.(Imaizumi Sadasuke Arai Hakuseki zenshū vol. 3 PP.7-8:1906).
