具志頭親方蔡温文若伊呂波琉歌 / Ryukyuan iroha verse anthology by Gushichan Uēkata Cai Wen/Sai On
光緒7(1881）年辛巳三月十七日製の、久高某による書写本。内容は、近世琉球の政治家である具志頭文若蔡温(1682-1761）の伊呂波(いろは)歌47首を書写したもの。なお、琉球の伊呂波歌の特色は、8･8･8･6の琉歌形式にのせて歌う点である。
This was handwritten by Mr. Kudaka (first name unknown) and printed on March 17, 1881. It is a selection of 47 iroha-uta verses,composed by Cai Wen (J., Sai On, 1682-1761), who was a politician of late 17th-18th century Ryukyu. In addition, the difference between Japanese and Ryukyuan iroha-uta is that Ryukyuan verses are always didactic. They also differ in terms of their mora patterns: 8 and 6 in Ryukyuan verses and 5 and 7 in Japanese verses. *"Iroha-uta" refers to a series of verses, each of which starts with a different letter of the traditional phonetic alphabet.
