ひるぎの一葉 / A Mangrove Leaf
岩崎卓爾（いわさき・たくじ：1869－1937）編著。本書は、明治42（1909）年に出版した『石垣島案内記』と明治45（1912）年に出した『八重山童謡集』を合冊・改訂し、大正9（1920）年に発行したもの。武藤長平（当時の造士館教授）が序文を寄せている。 八重山の自然や風土等を紹介したものとしては初出である。「緒言」によると、表紙デザインは石垣孫保、童謡集の作曲等は宮良長包、民謡解説は喜舎場永珣、口絵写真は嵩原安礼、統計諸表は瀬名波長宣が担当している。発行は浜崎荘市。編著者の岩崎は、仙台出身で石垣島初代測候所所長をつとめる旁ら、八重山の歴史・民俗・昆虫研究に励んだ人物。「糸数原主人」は、幾つかある岩崎の号の一つである。

Written and edited by Iwasaki Takuji (1869-1937). This book was published in 1920, combining and revising the earlier Ishigakijima annaiki (1909) and Yaeyama dōyōshū (1912). Mutō Chōhei (a professor at Zōshikan at that time) wrote the preface. This is the first publication introducing the natural history, climate, etc., of Yaeyama. According to the Forward (Shogen), Ishigaki Sompo designed the book cover, Miyara Chōhō composed the children's songs, Kishaba Eijun provided commentary on folk songs, Takehara Anrei took photos for the frontispiece and Senaha Chōsen was responsible for the statistical tables. Published by Hamasaki Sōichi. The author, Iwasaki was from Sendai and served as the first chief of the government weather station in Ishigakijima. At the same time, he devoted himself to studying the history, folklore and entomology of Yaeyama. "Itokazubaru shujin" wass one of Iwasaki’s pen names. (Updated on November 4, 2022)
