林政八書 / Eight Writings on Forestry Management

This book was edited by Ishizawa Hyōgo and then Okinawa prefecture issued it in December 1885. Woodblock printed. Rinsei hassho are the writings on forestry administration of Shuri Ōfu. It was compiled seven regulations regarding a timber land, which Sai On had promulgated, and an instruction related to forest, which had been ordered in 1869. It is generally considered that Sai On was the author of them. In this book, the importance of forest is explained and there is a description of growth and preservation of forests. Eight works are collected in this book. They are; Somayama Hōshiki-chō, Yama Bugyō Kimo-Chō, Somayama Hōshiki Shitsugi, Jumoku Hashoku Hōhō, Somayama Sōkei Jōjō ni tsuite, Yama Bugyōjo Kimo-chō Sitsugi, Yama Bugyō Kuji-chō and Osashizu Hikae. There is a stamp of "Taniguchi shi in" on this book, however the owner of this stamp is unknown.(Updated on November 4, 2022)
