A copy. On the cover page is a note "compiled in November, 1912." Consists of the following five reports: 1) Discussions on Okinawa Prefecture Inshore Fisheries Disposition (April, 1903, submitted by an engineer named Nakayoshi Chōjo). 2) Fishery Survey at Naha Seaport (done by an engineer named Tamaki Gorō). 3) Reef Survey at Inan, Chijaka, and Kaminohise (submitted by Tamaki Gorō). 4) Chībishi District Disposition (submitted by Tamaki Gorō). 5) Conclusion: Fisheries Rights Disposition II (submitted by Tamaki Gorō).These are all reports, submitted after the Fishery Law was enacted in 1901 and enforced the following year, regarding the notion of sea area division unique to the Ryukyus called umihōgiri (the sea area located right in front would be the property of that village) and its connection to the fishery rights, provided by the Fishery Law, as well as the disposition plans. This book, examining the tradition and practice of fishery use by referring to old documents, is a tremendously valuable record that shows how the royal government used to manage and utilize the sea area. The same contents of this book are included in Okinawa Nōrin Suisan Gyōseishi (but the original of this book is different). (Updated on August 4, 2015)
