那覇糖商組合規約書 / Constitution of Naha Tōshō Kumiai [Naha Sugar Producers and Business Association]

This is presumably a proposed Constitution for the Naha Tōshō Kumiai (Naha Sugar Producers and Business Association), submitted to Fukuhara Minoru, then Okinawa Prefecture Governor, upon its founding. A letterpress print. The completion date is May 30, 1888, and then it was approved by the governor on June 9 of the same year (order number 399). It consists of nine articles and 31 clauses as follows. Article 1: General, Article 2: Objectives, Article 3: Offices and Responsibilities, Article 4: Membership and Responsibilities, Article 5: Admission and Withdrawal, Article 6: Budget, Article 7: Penalties, Article 8: Congress, and Article 9: Amendments. On the front cover is the stamp of the Naha Tōshō Kumiai, which indicates that it was used for internal use. This can be now found only in the Sakamaki-Hawley Collection.(Updated on August 10, 2015)
