国書往来 読耕斉輯録 / Exchange of official letters, edited by Dokkōsai
琉球国に関する外交史料集である。成立年不明。万暦17（1589）年～正徳4（1714）年の文書を収録する。具体的には、①万暦17（1589）年の日本国関白宛琉球国王書状、②天正18（1590）年の琉球国王宛関白書状、③慶長14（1609）年の羽柴陸奥守宛本多上野介正純書状などが所収されている。内題に「読耕斉輯録国書往来」とある。「読耕斉」とは林読耕斉（はやし・どっこうさい、1625～1661）という儒者である。本書には読耕斉没後に作成されたはずの文書も収録されており、「輯録」の意味は明確でない。(2015年3月31日更新)
A collection of materials regarding Ryukyu's diplomacy. The completion year is unknown. It contains documents issued between 1589 and 1714, more specifically: 1) a Ryukyu King's letter addressed to a kanpaku (emperor's consultant) in Japan in 1589, 2) a Japanese kanpaku's letter addressed to the Ryukyu King in 1590, 3) a Honda (Kōzuke no Suke) Masazumi's letter addressed to Hashiba Mutsu no Kami in 1609, etc. The title on the first page of the text is Dokkōsai Shūroku Kokusho Ōrai. Dokkōsai refers to Hayashi Dokkōsai (1625-1661), a Confucian scholar. This book includes some documents made after Dokkōsai's death, so what the word "shūroku (to collect and record)" actually indicates is not clear. (Updated on December 25, 2015)
