画 琉球所見/句 孔雀 / A drawing of a Ryukyu view and a verse by Kujaku

This is a scroll. The title written on the back edge is Ga Naha Shoken, Ku Kujaku. There is a signature of "Kujaku" and a rakkan (signature mark) written at the end of the verse, and below the verse is a painting of a view of old Naha. The painting is a work by Okada Sessō (Seijirō), a Japanese painter. Since Okada visited Okinawa between 1912 and 1913, he probably painted this during these years. Next to the title of the painting Ryūkyū Naha Shoken, which is written below the painting is another signature, "Sei" and a rakkan mark of "Setsu." (Updated on December 25, 2015)
